Landcare Australia

Landcare Australia is a national network of local community groups, run almost exclusively via volunteers, for the purpose of taking care of Australia’s environment.

The Landcare Australia style guide is a 35 page document, 1
2 of those pages being devoted to their primary faction Landcare Australia.

These 12 pages are littered with examples of common use, clearly stating which option is preferred if design alternatives are available. Examples are also given in cases of co-branding and alternative types of media.

For consistency, images are also provided alongside the two types of logo, watermark, colour palette and dummy pamphlets, brochures, letterheads and a few others.

Each section is written with minimal jargon, is very consistent, clear and well laid out, making sure to follow the guidelines that they preach. Thus the style guide is in itself a very good example of use of their branding.

Overall Landcare’s style guide is very effective in promoting control and consistency of their brand as they go to great lengths to make sure it is very simple to understand and easy to follow, knowing that those who will be using the style guide will most likely have little to no design experience.
